Argentina struggled against Mexico and herdly looked like the same side that mauled S&M.their passing was indifferent and worst their ball possession, the hallmark of this argentime team was hardly inspiring. However with a dazzling shot from Rodrigues allows them into a clash with the increasingly peaking Germans who sealed their way into the quarters against Sweden in the first 12 mins of the game itself with goals from Podolski who partnered with Klose for a very great finish. This partnesrship is looking deadly for their opponents.

Brazil is lucky enough that they don't have germany or argentina in their way to the final.
But then this is world cup and their are no cosolation prizes for being second best.
no discussion would be complete without mentioning the magical free kick which Beckhom took to seal England's position amongst top 8 teams.


I am changing my predictions..
final between Brazil and Germany with Germany winning its 4th world cup..

great coverage and the gr8 stuff. but, Argentina looks good and they can blow up germany in next match .... and brazil didnt impress as england do ... i believe the final will be between england and argentina. One more point germany lost all major matches with topclass opponents ---they call it as black series...

who would have believed at the beginning or even with the quarter finals lined up that we will get to see France and Italy in the finals.But here they are, powered by the sheer brillinace of Zidane and shrewd tactics of Lippi respectively.Pele criticized Italy's defensive strategy saying they did not play to win but to not to lose.But in the dying stages of the game against Germany in extra time Lippi put four forwards upfront and their relentless attacks evantually paid off.It was a very shrewd move as in the penalties it would have been anyb ody's game. My predictions have gone haywire and i am wiser by now about the unpredictibilities of this game..as in life it is this uncertaity that brings joy to our life..

and they say there is no goodness in this world!

i want to share some personal examples which i have had with some indeed not so ordinary people. i was coming from dhanbad to Kolkata via Black Diamond train.the departure time was 11.30 pm but that day the train was late by 3 hours. my tour wasn't planned and i had a waiting category ticket in the sleeper class. normally there is not much rush and i expected to get a seat. that day was different. every compartment was filled with people and there were people sleeping on the floor in between the seats. Dhn to Kol is a 5hours journey and i reconciled myself to not getting a seat.i finally managed to cajole a person give some space to sit at the edge of a seat though it was very uncomfortable. Initially people were jostling for space and it was humid.however as the train started , things settled down. my bag was lying underneath the seat i was sitting.there was a aged bengali person sitting in front of me in similar circumstances who too was going to kolkata. we hardly exchanged glan...
